PHYTOSILK Hydrating Cream with Phytosterols for Dry Skin
Recommended for ages 30 + | Dry skin | Suitable for sensitive skin
This facial cream was formulated for mature skin that tends to be dry and dehydrated, especially during the summer time. Superior moisturizing ingredients in the cream improve hydration of the top layer of the skin (stratum corneum), reduce transepidermal water loss, and maintain skin’s elasticity and softness.
Phytosterols are plant molecules that help maintain the structure and function of the cell membrane and regulate the mechanisms of inflammation. Derived from avocado oil and olive oil, phytosterols soothe and nourish your skin.
The cream absorbs quickly and feels light and silky on the skin. The well-hydrated skin looks smooth and feels soft. This cream can also be used at night.
To ensure the lasting quality of the product, store at room temperature for three months or keep refrigerated for five months.

Description of ingredients:
Phytosterols present the second largest (after water) component in this cream. They are one of the “must-have” ingredients in products that are aimed at protecting the skin barrier. Phytosterols are plant molecules that help maintain the structure and function of the cell membrane and regulate the mechanisms of inflammation. Derived from avocado oil and olive oil, they offer healing and restorative action. They improve the barrier function of the skin and its microcirculation, slow down skin aging, and help protect against the action of UV rays.
Jojoba oil is structurally and chemically very similar to the human sebum and moisturizes dry skin very well. It is non-toxic, non-comedogenic and non-allergenic with a non-greasy feeling in use. The antioxidants present in jojoba oil smooth fine lines, wrinkles and naturally slow down signs of aging.
Avocado oil is rich in A, B, D and E vitamins, phytonutrients, lecithin, antioxidants and beneficial monounsaturated fatty acids (oleic acid). Avocado oil penetrates the skin deeper than other oils allowing for increased effectiveness. It is extremely good at softening your skin. Antioxidants in avocado oil benefit your skin by destroying the free radicals that prematurely age it.
Baobab oil is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin A, D, E & F as well as fatty acids that help maintain the integrity of skin cell membrane. We like baobab oil for its well-balanced fatty acid composition that matches the one of skin’s own moisturizer (sebum).
Vitamin B3 is a cosmeceutical ingredient which as research shows can offer a number of benefits in improving the appearance of aged and photodamaged skin and improving skin moisturization. It has been shown to stimulate collagen synthesis and production of ceramide, a lipid compound that contributes to the functional and structural integrity of the skin barrier. This is one of our most favorite ingredients that truly is a “hard-working horse” in the word of skin care components.
Glycerin is palm-derived, known for its ability to draw moisture from the air into the skin. Regardless of many myths surrounding this well-known component, glycerin is hands-down the best moisturizing ingredient out there. Some avoid this component believing that it has a drying effect on the skin. To clarify, glycerin indeed can be drying for the skin if it is present in the formula in the amount exceeding 30% and if the formula does not contain oils to bond the moisture it attracts to the skin. We use glycerin in the amount of 3% in our formulations.
Shea butter contains natural occurring Vitamins A, D and E and has anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties. Additionally, shea butter creates a protective layer on the skin that slows down moisture evaporation from the skin.
Pro-Vitamin B5 has moisturizing properties that improve hydration of the skin barrier, reduce transepidermal water loss and maintain skin elasticity and softness.
Urea is a nature-identical component that is naturally present in the skin. Urea acts as both a humectant and moisturizer that promotes rehydration of the skin. As we age, our skin loses about 50% of the urea content causing dryness of the skin. Additionally, urea has keratolytic properties which means that it encourages the rapid turnover of the skin cells improving the appearance of dry skin.
Candelilla wax is a natural vegetable wax with extraordinary protective properties. It is obtained from the Candelilla plant, which is a shrub growing wild in the Chihuahua desert in Mexico. We add this ingredient to our formulations for dry skin to help protect it from transepidermal water loss.
Rosemary oil extract is an oil soluble, natural extract of the leaves of the rosemary plant used to retard rancidity in natural oils due its potent antioxidant properties. As our products contain natural oils we want to protect the formulation by delaying the inevitable oxidation.
